AbstractA reduced basis nonlinear algorithm in conjunction with arc-length control method is presented. The displacement vector is expressed as linear combination of a small number of vectors and based on (a) eigensolution and (b) Rayleigh-Ritz method. To overcome the difficulty associated with the singularity of the stiffness matrix at the limit point in the reduced system, a unified constraint equation which was transformed consistently by the base vector is introduced.
