Abstract | In recent years, the role of Project Management Consulting, especially project management, has become increasingly important. In particular, the design management becomes even more necessary. It is the first step in forming, and has become decisive factor affect the success of a construction project. Therefore, the design management in Project Management Consulting should be researched and developed, especially in large projects and international projects, to ensure its performance, aesthetics and durability of project in the future. This report focuses on analyzes the role and responsibilities of design managers in a Project Management consulting organization. The analysis includes content on how to manage and control the design in stages: Pre-design, Concept design, Schematic design and Detail design. In addition, the report also points out the advantages and disadvantages in managing and discussing solutions, also provides an appropriate framework for future project application.
