Abstract | Since the beginning of mankind, the construction industry has appeared and played an important role in the economy and its development process. This industry has made the greatest contribution to a country's economic growth, and nowadays, it is becoming more and more competitive. As one of the leading contractor companies in the construction field in Vietnam, my company constantly want to raise the revenue volume in order to acquire market share. For this purpose, learning how to save money while increasing profits is a wonderful topic to research and apply to diverse construction projects, and this is where this thesis is seen to be very useful. This study will explore on contractor profitability management in construction projects using the profitability management strategy applied at “The Global City”, a Design & Build project built by Central as the D&B Main Contractor and Masterise Homes as the Developer. This project is now utilizing the new subcontractor system, which produces cost management. It also employs modern building methods such as precast concrete and aluminum formwork, which save construction process and waste (equipment, concrete, rebar, etc.). By using this real case, we will acquire a better knowledge of: - The theory of cost management in construction operation; - Profitability management practices in low-rise building projects; - Analyze strengths, weaknesses, and provide recommendations; - Review lessons learned for profitability management in construction projects. By studying these components, this study will show the concept of management of cash flow, optimizing payment methods and how to control the construction cost throughout the project. |
