Abstract | This study aims to design an Decision Support System in order to assist the top management at the head office for evaluating branch office performance and efficiency. The case study of Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural cooperatives, Thailand, is considered. In this regard Branch performance and efficiency analysis has been performed to study the activities at different management levels in the head office to investigate the several performance and efficiency measures and to explore the global area of decision making. Data collection procedure has been systemized to ensure that the collected data is adequate, reliable and relevant to meet the global information requirements for decision making. The conceptual structure of the proposed Decision Support System is then designed to represent the managerial present and future decision needs by incorporating models, a data base and the decision maker subsystems. Different forecasting models have been proposed and their importance and effectiveness is highlighted. Various report modules have been developed to cater for the information needs of decision makers. The system has been designed to use interactively and to facilitate the adhoc queries. Finally, the DSS data base is designed which can be augmented with the forecasting model subsystem (When developed). Finally, the prototyping of the system is accomplished using structured Query Language/Data System (SQL) on Virtual Machine/System Product (VM/SP) to monitor its performance and effectiveness. |
