AbstractThe science and robot technology are rapidly developing and growing in recent year. Robots are broadly used in real life. (eg: sport, music and cooking). This Xylophone playing-robot is one of the musical robot and it is controlled by a microcontroller with four servo engines by using GUI. Five basic songs are played with musical tones and the mallet can move different angle. Two servo motors are used for mallet beating system and another two servo motors are used for mallet rotation system. The useful graphical user interface (GUI) are made by using open source software (Processing Software) that based on Java language. The user can play the music manually by pressing not only the virtual keyboard but also the selected song buttons from the GUI. In this way, the user can play easily the xylophone playing robot by using GUI.
