AbstractThis study is concerned with possible modification of the plant layout of American Standard Sanitaryware(Thailand) Ltd. As extension of new departments make interdepartmental routing complex and material handling cost is considered excessive by the management. Relocating some of the existing departments can provide solution for present situation. Savings obtaining from revised layout, need be related with relocation costs of the existing department in term of payback period to compare different feasible plans. Placement of departments and layout plans were obtained using computer program. Material handling cost were reviewed for different alternatives using CRAFT computerized relative allocation of facilities techniques A Sensitivity analysis of the proposed solutions was carried out to observe the effects of variations in critical parameters (e.g) economic life of plan facilities, wage increase and data reliability of the relocation costs) This approach is based on Systematic layout planning to grip real process requirement.
