| Abstract | The purpose of this study is to investigate the level of
technical efficiency as well as allocative efficiency of Thai
textile industry. This study also tries to focus on the economies
of scale of the same industry. The study estimates four factors
Cobb-Douglas production for weaving sector and two factors
production function for other sectors. As an analytical tool, the
study applies ordinary least square and ridge regression method
to estimate the average production function and linear
programming method to estimate the frontier production function.
A high level of technical efficiency, a poor allocative
efficiency is found in this study. Lastly, the study presents
some economic interpretations of the findings and the future
direction of further research. |
