Abstract | Micro-computers are widely employed in information processing in several disciplines. Geo-processing is an area which has a potential for using micro-computers. So far the use of it in the field of gee-processing is limited. Generally, the gee-processing system handled hug e data , the limitation of storage , computational a nd input/output capabilities the microcomputers are not used extensively in this area. A gee-processing system is developed with the capability of producing high quality map printing and providing thematic maps with statistics such as variance, standard deviation and point search within a circle or polygon . The proposed system is tested for Bangladesh with some variables based on the available physical resources data using polygon encoding technique. In this study a consideration of vector-to-raster conversion is used to minimize the storage requirement . Th e proposed system is implemented on IBM PC with 256 KB of main memory . |
