AbstractThe subject of oxygen transfer due mechanical mixing has received a great deal of attention from researchers some progress has been made in the past to formulate a comprehensive model relating the oxygen transfer coefficient to hydraulic parameters of a system using mechanical mixing, but the res arches did not receive unanimous acceptance. In this study, comments from researchers on past studies were incorporated in experiment and analysis from experimental data obtained several empirical models were developed and statistically tested with present and past available data in addition to the parameters identified in the past models power and Reynolds number were found to have significant effects on the oxygen transfer rate while froude number did not have a comparable effect this is believed to be due the larger contribution of diameter than the speed finally a modified version of the model developed by the past researcher has also been suggested which explains the highly turbulent condition.
