Abstract | This study tries to analyze the factors of migration behaviour between the Taipei Metropolis and other areas of Taiwan area, also tests the theory that· causally links migration behaviour and inter-regional imbalance. The objectives of this study are to find out some high correlation factors of migration by emperically testing the related theory. A systematic framework has been developed in this study. There are two causal loops, one is for the causes of in-migration and the other one is for the out-migration. These reference modes have assimilated some variables in the system and assumed some correlations among each other. The regressive analysis also follows this thinking to develop the reasonable equations. It is hoped that we can verify this to be true in some degree. The findings of this study are: (1) Different theories of migration can be viewed as high correlation between each other. A comprehensive aspect might be established by the combination of these factors and let them be tested by the statistical methods. (2) There is a positive correlation between urban employment and population migration into Taipei area. (3) Distance could also play negative factor for the people migration within the limited area. (4) Urban population scale can be view as an indicator of population migration potential. Largepopulationusually means high quantity of migrants. (5) For out-migration from Taipei area, it can be partly explained by the existing theory. |
