AbstractThis research study covers all production planning requirements for Refractory Plant . It includes production scheduling , raw material requirements planning, manpower planning, and plant capacity planning. Actually, these models are divided to three levels for different purpose of planning . The short-term plan is the lowest level to find the exact schedule of production . The medium-term plan is the level of preparing facilities for short-term plan. The long-term plan is for predicting the future and preparing facilities for the future. The scheduling model is a simulation model using real data . The medium-term and long-term production models are aggregate production model (APP) using linear programming technique to solve the problems. The manpower planning model uses a heuristic model to choose the best schedule of workers and number of workers required for each machine . The material requirements planning model use results of APP and the modification of MRP to solve the problem. The plant capacity planning is a part of APP model.
