Abstract | A mathematical programming model to find an optimal rule curve of a reservoir was developed based on the Principle of Progressive Optimality . The stochastic nature of streamflow was explicitly taken into account. The objective of the model was to maximize total annual expected energy while the irrigation demand and flood control were satisfied. The model was applied to the Pattani River Project as a case study. The optimal rule curves for three different levels of irrigation demands were obtained and they were simulated by the existing records of stramflows. It was found that the energies obtained from these operating three rule curves we r e closed to the study by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand. |
