AbstractThis thesis presents the results of a study on consumption and opportunities for conservation of energy in a rayon factory, Thai Rayon Company Limited. The functions that were looked into were: lighting, insulation, steam trapping, condensate recovery, dryer of fiber and evaporator. effort was made in each case to identify areas where energy was not being used efficiently and specific recommendations were made for effecting savings. An estimated Baht 13.02 million saving every year was found feasible. The total investment required would be Baht 7.04 million. Further, it has been shown that another potential of Baht 3.2 million savings in condensate collection annually exists. Some technical aspects and detailed collection annually exists. Some technical aspects and detailed economic analysis were left out due to paucity of time.
