AbstractThis study is concerned with construction costa and O&M costs for conventional municipal treatment plants located in various regions in Thailand. Data collected from one hundred municipal waterworks have been analyzed. The past investment costs were adjusted for inflation as well as for material and labor cost fluctuations. O&M costs were determined individually for five categories: Chemicals, energy, labor maintenance material and miscellaneous. The study indicates that the investment cost ranges from 2,157 baht/capita to 2,802 baht/capita with an average of 2,585 bath/capita. In O&M costs, labor cost is the most costly item followed by energy. chemicals and maintenance costs. A number of mathematical models of construction cost and O&M cost was also established from the analysis of one hundred waterworks data by regression analysis. The models can be utilized in the preliminary stage of cost estimation for the conventional municipal treatment plants located in Thailand.
