Abstract | In order to extend microcomputer application in geotechnical engineering, four microcomputer programs for solving various geotechnical engineering problems were developed in IBM PC BASIC language in this study : (l) Program TRXMAIN was developed for helping the user calculating and representing testing results of Triaxial Compression Tests in tabular form and graphic curves. The table of output results was designed having the style which is similar to the conventional table of laboratory for user' s convenience . Graphic curves include stress-strain curves a nd stress path curve , they can be displayed on color/ graphic screen and / or printed out by printer . (2 ) Program CONMAIN was developed as the same way as program TRX MAIN . It is used for data processing works of Consolidation Test. This program also represents the testing results in tabular form and graphic curves: s vs. LOG curve Cc vs. LOG curve where s: settlement e: void ratio P:axial pressure Cv: consolidation coefficient Cc: compression index (3) Program "MICBSP" was developed for helping the user to analyze the stability of slope with a circular failure surface by Modified Bishop Method. This program was also designed to provide some convenient choices for the user to perform it. These are: DO ONLY - one failure surface for a specified radius and center of rotation GRID - various radii are used for centers of rotation that are locate over a specified grid SEARCH - the radius and center of rotation is various in a systematic way to "search" for a critical failure surface Two methods to input data of "MICBSP" - There are two options can be chosen by the user when he run the program "MICBSP" One is typing the input data by the user directly from keyboard, and the data is only to be used temporarily for one time. The other option is to prestored the initial data in a data diskette first, then ask the program itself to get the necessary data from the diskette. The data file in the diskette can be used, checked, corrected and modified by the user at any time. (4) Program MICBILD was developed for helping the user to analyze the stresses ad movements in embankments by Finite Element Method. Input data of this program is very complicated, therefore, an assistant program ISBIDATA is necessary to be developed to incorporate the main program MICBILD. The program ISBIDATA is performed independently, it shows all the instruction guides on the screen and control the location of cursor"..." helping the user to input, correct and modify the initial data so that the complete and correct data file can be easily formed in data diskette, from which the program MICBILD will get necessary data. User's manual for each program is included in the chapters III, IV, V and VI individually. |
