AbstractA microcomputer program is developed for the calculation of moment-axial force interaction diagrams of general, partially prestressed, reinforced concrete members subjected to combined action of axial force and biaxial bending. The biaxial interaction surface can be determined by assuming plane sections and formulating equilibrium for an ultimate strain distribution which is varied incrementally. The interaction diagrams depend on the material properties of concrete and steel, the strain distribution within concrete, the rate of prestress, the geometry of the cross-section, etc. Ten different sections and analysed in order to demonstrate the effects of the various factors. Cross-sections are assumed to have polygonal shape with of without holes, and a rectangular and a parable-rectangle stress block are implemented in the program. In addition, approximative methods for the construction of biaxial interaction surfaces are discussed.
