AbstractIncreasing congestion on roads in metropolitan region and increasing usage of private vehicles are the serious issues that affected to the development of the transportation sector. Usage of public transport is less in this study area. In the usage of public transport one mode of transport is high and one mode of transport is less so in this research the public transportation is divided into two categories such as air conditioned and Non air conditioned. Whereas air-conditioned mode involves ac bus and a van. All of the factors are related to socio-economic and service attributes. The study is based on a questionnaire survey that was carried out in Bangkok and other provinces of Thailand. A binary logit model was applied in order to calibrate utility function for public transport.Findings derived from the statistical analysis suggest that gender, age, average income, auto ownership, career, travel cost, waiting time and distance from to station are found to be influential factors for travelers' mode choice behavior Non air-conditioned mode involves non ac bus and a songthaew.In this study we will be discussing of about the factors that are affecting influencing in selection of air conditioned and non-air-conditioned mode of public transport.
