AbstractNational household travel survey is a tool in urban transportation planning process which is the main source of travel information including trips made by the modes of travel and purpose of the trips with socio-economic characteristics of the people. The aim of this survey is to understand the transport needs and travel behavior of households, help reduce congestion and improve the existing public transportation. This survey is conducted in the capital city of Thailand, Bangkok. The data collected from the questionnaire survey is further analyzed to identify the influential factors effecting the usage of public transportation using binary logit regression model for people in condominium and individual houses separately. The model indicates for the people who lives in condominium that age, vehicle ownership, household size and travel time significantly impact the usage of public transportation. Whereas in individual houses, the resulting influential factors are income per month, household size, vehicle ownership, license holder ship and parking availability.
