Abstract | User experience on purchasing goods, services and conducting financial transaction over the internet is becoming convenient due to the mobile banking payment technology. In Myanmar, the usage of mobile banking system have various impacts on individuals, business and government sectors. The purpose of the study is to investigate the influential factors on the usage of the mobile banking system in Myanmar and the perspective of the non-users on the mobile banking system. This study was conducted to investigate what are the main elements which have influence on the mobile banking systems users in Myanmar. These followings are the key impact factors on mobile banking system usage which are the perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived risk, perceived financial cost and infrastructure. The modified ‘Technology Acceptant Model’, also known as the TAM model was used to answer the five proposed hypotheses as the methodology in this study. The survey questionnaire were collected from 200 respondents who are current internet user from Myanmar which were analyzed by the quantitative research method. The five influencing factors are measured using a five-point Likert scale in the surveys. The result shows a positive relationship between perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and mobile banking system usage while perceived risk, perceived financial cost shows a negative relationship on the usage of mobile banking system and there is no significant relationship between infrastructure and the use of mobile banking system. According to the research findings, Myanmar’s banks should pay attention to a mobile banking system and other technological innovations to trust the system for the users. In addition, banking institutions should develop a clearer policy for mobile banking customers on how they will protect consumers from harm while using the system, which will help to reduce the risk for the customers. |
