Abstract | Due to the pandemic or any other tough situations, attending the laboratory session physically is difficult for students. To overcome this problem virtual laboratory sessions are im plemented. In many universities, virtual teaching methodology is not implemented widely. This paper talks about how to implement virtual laboratory sessions on a new trending course IoT with a curriculum described for both theoretical and practical laboratory sessions which can be conducted in virtual mode. IoT is a new course which is rapidly developing in various sectors like embedded systems, information and communication technologies, artificial intelligence, education etc. Hence, Implementation of IoT in the educational sector is one of the criteria of this paper. There are many Visual Programming Languages which are used with the modern technology. But the Visual Programming Language named Node-RED is taken into consideration for this paper. Node-RED is an open-source Visual Programming Language which is used for many IoT based technologies and so, it is kept into the curriculum of the virtual laboratory sessions. With the integration of IoT with Node-RED five different types of examples such as arduino serial port, arduino MQTT, live photo capture with object detection, binance cryptocurrency trade and amazon cloud based. Installation of Node-RED for IoT with all the configurations, utilization’s and literature review (past, present, future) are also explained. |
