AbstractThe purpose of this study was to find the various areas of material wastes on the building projects in Bangkok ; to suggest measures to reduce those wastes; and to recommend allowances for those wastes. The materials included in this study we re concrete, reinforcement, brick, plastering materials , and flooring materials. The areas of material wastes were found to be nearly identical on all of the observed projects. Measures to reduce these wastes are suggested by observing the effects of design factors , method the degree of control of construction, workmanship, and supervision on the amount of material wastes . Recommendations for allowances of material wastes are given on the basis of observations made during this study.
