Abstract | The primary goal of an e-government website is to provide citizens with an efficient means of getting their business done, regardless of when or where they happen to be. Meanwhile, it's crucial that all e-government websites be both easy to navigate and readily available across all devices. Measuring usability and accessibility is an essential equity measure for determining how well e-government websites serve people with disabilities and what can be done to make them more accessible. Twelve official government websites in Afghanistan will be analyzed for this research to see how well they adhere to usability and accessibility standards and whether or not they are optimized for mobile use. The websites were first evaluated using automated online tools, and their performance result was compared to that of human experts to determine how well the tools performed. GTmetrix is used to do a thorough analysis of the responsiveness, interactivity, and visual stability of a website. The websites' mobile-friendliness was evaluated using Google Mobile-Friendly and mobiReady, and their accessibility was checked using the web-based automated tools WAVE and TAW, both of which are in accordance with WCAG. The results of this study provide new perspectives for academics, government agencies, and practitioners interested in measuring the level of satisfaction with e-government websites in order to improve the service quality of these portals. |
