Abstract | This study investigates the applicability of an 8-bit microcomputer (APPLE Il) for a thrHe -dimensional analysis of tall bui.idings. Th.e concept of rigid floor diaphraym is considered. Certain aspects of progral'Jl11ling technique considering the limit incore memory and the relatively low speed of microcomputer are discussed . Then, a illicrocomputer program for three-dimensional analysis of buildings (m'.I'AB ) i s developed using Applesoft BASIC la n guage under Apple disk operating system (DOS) • This program fully utilizes the limited incore memory a nd minimi zes the number of data transfers. Compil.a tion ot programs and the binary f orrii o f data storage also help enhance the s p eeds of execution a nd disk data transters. Finally, three numerical examples are solved by this program to Illustrate its effectiveness. |
