Abstract | A comparative study between three hydrological deterministic mode l s
namely the SSARR, Sacramento and SWM- IV (Stanford) models were chosen and
tested for two different river basins in Northeastern Thailand. The daily
records of the hydrometeorological data in the water years 1978 , 1979 and
1980 were used in calibration of the models. The r,10dels were verified using
the data in 1981. Good results were obtained in both calibration and
verification. Statistical analysis were made on the results obtained to
confirm the goodness of fit of the results to the observed data.
The intercomparison of models was based upon the visual comparison
as well as the st~tisticall comparison and it was partially dependent by
using the output of the SSARR model in deriving some related parameters in
the other models. The result shows that in general, the SSARR and SWM- IV models
give nearly the same results and they perform better than the Sacramento model.
For flood year , the SSARR model simulates the volume and shape of the
hydrographs better than the SWM- IV and Sacramento models. |
