AbstractKedung Ombo dam will be built at location of 70.24' South Latitude and 110 .83' East Long in The province of: Central Jawa , Indonesia. Bedrock underlying the damsite is comprised of interbedded clay stone and sandstone. Many of tightly overturned folds were observed . Faults has effected the rocks formed as sheared and crushed zones. A major crushed and. sheared claystone passes across the dam foundations, also the presence of recent thrust faults in the middel of right abutment were observed and should be regarded as an active faults. The dam will be a rock till type but suitable rock source of rock till is lacking in the works area. The closest site of quarry- ( 15 km. from damsite ) becomes a problem due to the environmental constraints.
