AbstractAll types of industries, including textile industry, are facing the pressure of global competition at home as well as in international markets. The firms, regardless of their size, have to craft their strategy to anticipate, respond and adapt to the changing business environment. The challenge facing today's managers is to establish the direction of their firms by developing and implementing the company strategies to compete in the world market. United Cotton Co. Ltd. is a medium size company. The company has 2 core businesses, a yarn manufacturing and a recycled spinning waste. Although the company has a small market share in both core businesses, the company performance's is average when compared to other Thai textile manufactures. In order to maintain competitiveness in yarn manufacturing business, United Cotton continues improving company's yarn quality by annually investing in new machinery.
