AbstractSome soil factors possibly reducing peanut yields were investigated in a pot experiment on soil from Roi-Et province, the Northeast of Thailand. The experiment consisted of two parts, one with three replications and one for observation without replication. The replicated treatment consisted of lime and fertilizer, liming ranged from 310 to 1860 kg/ha and fertilizer application was full fertilizer and fertilizer lacking in N, P, K, Ca, S, and micronutrients, respectively. In some treatments Ca in CaCo3 was replaced by Ca in CaSo4, Ca (No3)2 and CaCl2. High yields occurred in treatments with 620-1860 kg/ha of lime and full fertilizer. Yields were low in the control treatment and where micronutrients or K had been omitted. Yield in the replicated treatments were more affected by CaCo3 by the other types of calcium sources. The observation treatments was also applied with lime and fertilizer, type and rate of lime application was 620 to 1860 kg/ha of CaCo3 and 248 to 496 kg/ha of Mgo. Yields in the observation treatments were similary affected as the replicated treatments. Yield components in both replicated and observation treatments were increased with increasing lime and full fertilizer application, but the number of seed/pod showed no difference.
