AbstractThis study is concerned with the development of a computer based information system, geared to satisfy personnel information requirements of an academic Institution, in particular of Dhaka University in Bangladesh. To develop the general design, the information needs of the various management levels have been determined. Based on these requirements various reports including their formats and subsequently the forms are designed taking into account the current needs and the needs envisioned in the near future. Various manual and computer files are designed to process the personnel data for efficiency and ease of usage. The method used for system analysis and design is a technique called structured analysis and design technique developed by SofTech. Process and resource requirements are established and a framework for the implementation of the system is also proposed.
