AbstractThe microcomputer-aided medical diagnosis system is presented in three models. Model I is designed and implemented straightforwardly while rule data of the other two models (Model II and III) are designed in Tree structure. However, the latter two models are not implemented yet. Rule data in Model I and II was designed to support two ways decision making (yes or no), while in Model III three ways decision making was designed. In Model I the knowledge is represented in production rule (, ), which is a pattern-invoked program. The control level uses goal-driven search and backtracking by coupling both pattern matching and flag value checking. In Model II and III the knowledge is organized as static description of phenomenon, which need no control level as Model I. The processing can be done by the knowledge themselves within the data structure. The real function of control in both Models II and III is simply a) the communication between system and the user in term of conversation, b) the interface for knowledge acquisition from the user.
