Abstract | The computer has become a very useful tool in many simulation studies. It is used here with the Hybrid Model to simulate the rainfall - runoff process. The technique of combining the seasonal estimation with regression of discharge departures on rainfall departures in the hybrid model would seem particularly promising for large catchments with a highly seasonal behaviour, and these are often the catchments for which estimation systems are required. For the case of the Ping River in the Upper Chao Phraya Basin, it is found that the Hybrid Model performs pretty well. This means that having rainfall data and computer facilities, one can easily estimate daily discharge for that river, once rainfall data are available. |
