Abstract | Most countries in Asia face the common problem of securing adequate energy supplies to meet their growing energy needs. Energy resources are disproportionately distributed and the development of these resources is subject to various technical, economic, and political considerations. This study reviews the energy supply situation in Asia. Energy supply strategies differ among the Asian countries but all are aimed at ensuring stable energy supplies. while some countries are relatively self-sufficient in energy, trade remains essential in balancing the energy supply-demand structure in the region. |
