Abstract | The shortage of fossil fuels have resulted a search for alternatives to meet the crisis. A potential alternative is the production of producer gas b the technique of gasification of biomass. However gasification of biomass has remained more of an art and not so much a science when it comes to building a gas producer unit. It this study the effects of different design parameters on the performance of a downdraft gasifier have been investigated. An optimum CO content and maximum tar cracking can definitely be obtained by the proper design of the designed parameters in the gasifier. |
