Abstract | Tides and tidal currents of field data were analyzed. The data was collected by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for the proposed scheme namely " Development Project of the Industrial Port on the Eastern Seaboard in the Kingdom of Thailand " at Rayong. From t he analysis of tidal data , it was found t hat the tide at Rayong coast is not diurnal behaviour . Four principal constituents namely Kl(23.93 hr), 01 (25 .82 hr), M2 (12.42 hr ) and S2 (12.00 hr ) are predominant at t his coast. The diffusion coefficient at this coast was determined from the velocity data using statistical approach . It was found that the diffusion coefficient along the coast (X-direction) is higher than the direction normal to the coast (Y-direction). The order magnitudes of diffusion coefficient along the coast line and normal to the coast are about 2.13 m /sec and 0.95 m /sec respectively. |
