AbstractIn this study, a Thai CAI system is developed as a learning/teaching aid for teachers in Primary Schools. The proposed courseware is designed for teaching a lesson of fractions which is a part of the mathematical syllabus of Prathomsuksa Six. The CAI system is implemented on a Sirius Microcomputer with a graphics display terminal. All CAI programs are developed in GWBASIC Programming language and all learning materials are presented in Thai language. Graphics are used to enhance the understandability of the course materials. The concept of artificial intelligence is applied to make the CAI system function effectively. The CAI system is implemented and field tested in Two Primary Schools in Bangkok to evaluate the acceptance of teachers and pupils. Results of the test are positive. Some implementing problems are found to be the lack of computer background and acquaintance with keyboards of the pupils.
