AbstractCommercialization of gasifiers is now taking place in the Philippines, under a Program which was initiated in July, 1981. Results of this study show that gasifiers are economically viable in the country for a variety of applications, although successful commercialization will depend on the existence of a number of other conditions. Only modest accomplishments, to date, can be attributed to the Philippines' Gasifier Program in its four (4) years of implementation. Nevertheless, it is an undertaking which well bears important lessons for other nations of the developing world.
