AbstractLignite occurs in the Krabi Basin as exposures in the existing mines and outcrops within the Tertiary rocks. The available lignite reserves in the Krabi Basin covering an area of 364 square kilometers was assessed. Lignite reserve assessment in the Krabi Basin was surveyed by surface mapping, surface geophysical explorations (seismic reflection survey , gravity survey, and s1rotem survey), subsurface explorations (drilling and borehole logging) The reserve evaluation was calculated by sections using block by block method. The reserve estimate obtained from this study is 19,898,649 metric tons of lignite at 9. 11 : 1 overall stripping ratio. Both good lignite and poor lignite are mixed in this quantity.
