AbstractSeries of experimental tests were carried out at Suankularb school and Bangkaepankham school's latrines to investigate the feasibility of producing biogas from latrines. Attempts were made to increase the biogas production through improving design of gas holder, installation of H2S scrubber and determining optimum operational parameters. The H2S scrubber designed in this study was found to be simple and efficient to remove H2S and thus increased methane content of biogas. The results of this study demonstrated the feasibility of producing biogas from latrines and the results of this study could be used to design biogas units.
