AbstractThe applicability of various erosivity indices are tested on a Latosol (Oxisol) for soil loss from contourridged, bench terraced and forested plots. The Er30 has the best relationship with soil loss and is selected as a promising erosivity index for Solo Watershed. There is a good power regression relationship between monthly Er30 and ' 1 46 monthly rainfall amount. The use of an equation Er30 = 2.02 P • has the ,m m advantage of simple computation of the distribution of monthly and annual erosivity index and iso-erodent mapping. The iso-erodent map is produced to serve the prediction of annual soil loss from various land uses in the So1o Watershed with example of its application in the Tapan Experimental Area.
