AbstractThe aim of this thesis is to design a Computerized Accounting Information system (AIS) for the Provincial Waterwork Authority of Thailand (PWWA). It includes the preliminary investigation of the existing accounting information system, the development of an AIS conceptual model, and the detailed design of the Billing Subsystem which is a part of the proposed AIT. To develop the general design, information requirements of the PWWA Financial and Accounting Department, Regional offices, and Provincial waterworks are determined by interviewing the head, chiefs and staffs of those offices and by studying other system in other organization where it is likely that a similar system is in use. The proposed conceptual AIS model is developed and presented in graphical forms. This model shows functional subsystems and their appropriate information flows. The Billing Subsystem is selected for detailed design. Information and processes needed for billing are incorporated in the design and later programmed on a microcomputer. Proposed procedures needed in the implementation of the system are also given.
