Abstract | This study covers the analysis, design, and implementation of a Payroll System for the Asian Institute of Technology. It is conducted with collaboration of the staff of Administrative Data Processing Unit, in particular the Payroll Section, Which provided the information and assisted in the overall design. The system was developed using the facilities available in the Regional computing Center. COBOL is used as the host language, Virtual Machine/ 370 as the operating system, IBM 3277 Graphic Attachment Support for alpha-screen management, and Virtual Storage Access Methods for file management. A menu-driven system is developed using the menu selection plus form-filling technique. The system is implemented and tested with 'live' data from the Payroll Section. A user's manual is provided to assist the staff in the payroll Section in using the system. |
