AbstractThis study has been made to develop a general approach to micro-hydro project which is presented and illustrated, by a case study , in such a way as to help those with limited engineering back. grounds to undertake similar projects, The economic analyses of the case study are Based on assumptions, derived from studies of various micro-hydro reports and site visits. An attempt is made to evaluate the feasibility of micro hydro system when compared with other systems using fossile fuels. For a rural village with stream of certain hydro potential and located more than 1 km from the main power line , micro- hydro is the most feasible alternative for producing electricity.
