| Abstract | This study is done mainly as an exercise to know about the steps and procedures in the modification of a generalized package for business in a small computer. The sales package in the NEC system 100/40 was chosen for the study. After the analysis of the package, it was found that sales forecasting, which plays an important role in decision making for the managers, is not included in the sales package. Also, in the files of the package, sufficient sales data for forecasting is not stored. A package of computer programs for forecasting has been developed. A data file which has been created, interfaces with the existing sales package and stores sales data for past five years and the current year. To make the user more comfortable in using these programs, a menu has been created. |
