| Abstract | This thesis aims to design and implement a computerized shipping information system for Bangladesh. The system has been tailored to be implemented on a stand alone small computer. Data collection procedure has been systematized and it has been ensured that the collected date are adequate and reliable to meet the global information requirements of the users. To achieve this goal, various source documents and collection and validation of input simpler and easier. Various report modules have been developed to cater for the information needs of the main users of the shipping information system. The system has been designed in such a way that it may be augmented with the sub-systems (when developed) of the port information system of Bangladesh with minimum effort of interfacing. |
