Abstract | Engineers design waste stabilization ponds using a minimum area of land to achieve a desired level of waste treatment. Combining waste treatment and recycling could provide a financial return on the investment as demonstrated in this study. The concept of maximizing fish production by increasing the pond area is presented. An attempt was made to study the dynamic behaviour of recycling ponds and to formulate various empirical models which could be used to design human-waste recycling systems. Design examples are presented. |
