AbstractFour laboratory model aerated lagoon systems: a single-cellular and three, dual-power, multicellular aerated lagoons were operated under ambient environmental conditions at 2-day and 4-day hydraulic detention times. Starch synthetic waste were used as a sole carbon source. Investigations with these lagoon performances proved that the three-stage aerated lagoon operated at 4-day hydraulic detention time is the most ·efficient treatment system. Biokinetic constants: u k, Ks, kd and Y were evaluated and found to be equal to 0.18 h , 0.24 h-1 , 110 mg/l, 0.026 h-1 , and 0.77, respectively.
