AbstractThis study consists of brief discussion regarding characteristics of solar energy, availability of solar energy in Bangladesh, necessity of utilizing solar energy, present use and prospects for future use of solar energy in Agricultural Sector in Bangladesh. Design of solar dryers, solar refrigerators and economic feasibility of solar water pumps have been discussed. From the study it is found that there are good prospects of utilizing solar energy in the Agricultural Sector in Bangladesh. Solar dryers, and refrigerators are technically feasible, but solar water pumps are not economically feasible with their present cost.
