AbstractThis study has been carried out to design a Computerized Information System for a Water Works Utility (PWWA). It includes a detail analysis of the existing information system for developing an MIS . As a first phase towards integrated MIS an general design for computerizing the Technical and Statistical data handled/used by PWWA is developed . To develop the general design, the information needs of the various management levels have been determined. Based on these requirements various reports and there formats are designed and subsequently the data gathering forms which will be the inputs to the Computerized Information System are designed. The data gathering forms are designed to incorporate data for the current needs and the needs envisioned in the near future. Various computer files are designed to hold and process the data being collected from the Water Works. Finally a design for the computerized system is given, and its Hardware, Software and Personnel requirements are established. A frame work of the implementation plan has been given; out line for further developing the information system is given and factors cited which will lead towards system failure.
