AbstractTesting of solar collectors following the standard methods is time consuming . The performance of the collector resulted from data assessment through linear regression method providing by t he manufacture is not correct if the working conditions are different from the test conditions. Professor G.Y. Saunier has proposed his non- linear model applied to any working condition. Two test beds were constructed in order to determine t he intrinsic parameters needed . Three kinds of commercial collectors were tested and the error of the results and instruments used were analyzed statistically. It was shown that the accuracy of differential temperature measuring device was not high enough so that the large error happened at low water temperature . The new method of determing back and side loss coefficient of the collector was suggested and some problems in t he experimental work were discussed.
