Abstract | This report presents management strategies for water quality in the Chao Phraya River. Data and information required are gathered from the Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Public Health and the National Environment Board of Thailand from September to December, 1980. Based on the available information from these sources, the entire river is classified into four classes. Appropriate stream standards were recommended for each class of water making it suitable for its best usage. With the help of the Finite Element Substance Dispersion model, the appropriate effluent standards and waste treatment level that will provide required level of BOD5 and DO for different classes of water was examined. The additional flow to be released in excess of the present level of reservoir operation was studied. |
