AbstractMultifarious cows (n=36) weighing between 350-450 kilogram body weight were used for this study. The cows were divided into three treatment groups of 12 cows each such that the order of lactation, average milk yield, fat (%) and Solids Not Fat (SNF%) for the three treatments were more or less the same. The treatment groups were: T1- Without supplements, T2- With 100ml/day/cow of Herbs-Probiotic supplement and T3- With 150ml/day/cow of Herbs-Probiotic supplement. The herbs-probiotic supplement used for the study was produced by Biosa Nepal Agriculture Pvt. Ltd. The study consisted of two periods, 7 days for preliminary baseline data collection and 37 days for data collection. The total duration of the study was 44 days. An improvement of 8.36% was observed in milk yield in T2 and 5.72% in case of T3. An improvement of 22% in fat and 8.6% in SNF was observed in T2. For treatment 3, fat improved by 21% and SNF improved by 6.12%. A simple economic analysis was done to measure the net income of using the herb probiotic supplement. Net income of Nepali Rupees (NRS) 113.52/Cow/Day for T2 and NRS 81.34/Cow/Day for T3 was earned. In terms of Unites States Dollars (USD) net income was USD 1.10/Cow/Day and USD 0.79/Cow/Day in T2 and T3 respectively (1USD= 102.74 NRS).
